R Therapy

R is the most difficult sound to learn in the English language. Some children spend years in speech therapy trying to master this troublesome sound—which in reality is many sounds when you count R blends and the six vocalic  R sounds (ear, air, are, or, ire, er). I have devoted much of my career to studying the complexities of R. In my experience, most children who struggle with R have underlying motor issues that must be resolved before R can be mastered. Over many years of experience I have perfected my technique for identifying and remediating specific motor issues so that R can be learned. I’m currently writing a book describing my technique for teaching R.
